My #1 tomato growing secret is to deep plant my tomato seedlings. It can feel painful to have to break off all those beautiful leaves and to turn a massive plant into a tiny little stump, but getting that deep and strong root system off to the best start really makes a difference when it comes to later plant health and production. There is no magic to my tomato success (other then maybe the magic of growing in the Okanagan), and this tomato trick can be yours too.
