Hello and Happy 4th of July my Friends, welcome to my Southern Kitchen!

Cobblers are one of my favorite Southern Desserts and I have done a few on my channel and today I am making another amazing Cobbler recipe, Berry Cobbler with 2 types of berries; Strawberries and Blueberries!

Simple, easy, and it is Summertime so I will be using fresh berries; it is baked in a tender and buttery crust! This will be great for your 4th of July and other BBQ Cookouts, Crawfish Boils, Fish Frys and more! Everyone will love and enjoy this and going back for seconds.

1 pint fresh blueberries, rinsed
1 pint fresh strawberries, sliced and rinsed
2 teaspoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/2 cup white sugar


Crust

1 1/2 cups self rising flour
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 cup white sugar
1 1/2 cups evaporated milk
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 teaspoon pure strawberry extract
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter


Preheat Oven to 350 Degrees (for Cobbler and Butter)

Place the butter into a 9x13 inch baking dish, put it in the oven and let it melt all the way. Set aside.


For the Berries:

In a medium bowl, add in the sliced strawberries, blueberries, lemon juice, and sugar, stir until well combined (it will create a glaze). Set aside.


For the Crust

In a large bowl, add in the flour, nutmeg, and sugar and whisk together until well incorporated. Slowly pour in half of the evaporated milk into the flour mixture and whisk, then add in the rest of the milk and whisk until well combined. Add in the vanilla extract, and strawberry extract and whisk together until well incorporated. Pour the crust mixture on top of the melted butter then add in the mixed berries (along with the juice from the berries) on top of the crust (do not stir). Bake for 45 minutes. Remove from the oven and let it cool on wire rack. Serve with vanilla ice cream, fresh strawberries and blueberries (if desired) and enjoy!
