When you receive the unit, it will come in a box with all the necessary components, including a tool kit and an operating manual. Simply take the unit out of the box and remove the plastic cover.
To most efficiently pre-deliver the unit, place it on a flat bench.
Now, let's take a closer look at the unit. On one side, you have access to the oil stamp; on the other, you have the pull cord. At the front, you’ll find all the necessary inputs, the on/off switch, and other gear. There's a fuel tank on the top of the unit, and we recommend using 91 or 95 fuel. You can also find the spark plug access panel and a fuel gauge on the other side.
The R3100 unit weighs 29 kilos and can be easily carried with a single-handle pickup. However, if this weight is too much for you, there are two handles for a two-person pickup. When you receive the unit, it will be dry, meaning no oil or fuel is in it, so you’ll need to have some on hand to get set up and started.
To pre-deliver the unit, follow these simple steps:
1. Fill the fuel tank with 91 or 95 fuel, approximately 500 mL or 1 litre.
2. The spark plug is already connected; no need to do anything there.
3. Access the side panel opposite the pull cord using the Phillips head screwdriver from your toolkit.
4. Remove the front cover to reveal the oil stamp and the battery for electric start.
5. Connect the battery by plugging in the lead, as there are no positive or negative terminals.
6. Tilt the unit back slightly to access the oil stamp and fill the oil to the top of the thread on the oil indicator.
7. Close the oil stamp, put the cover back on, and secure it with the top bolts from the toolkit.
With the fuel and oil in place, your unit is now ready to go! Turn the unit to the front and choose either the electric or pull start options. The electric start is recommended, but the pull start is a backup. Remember to maintain the battery with a trickle charge if you're not using the unit regularly.
