Donald Trump discussed the possibility of jailing journalists with James Comey, newly released memos of conversations between the President and the former FBI Director reveal.The 15 pages of documents contain new details about a series of interactions with Trump that Comey found so unnerving that he chose to document them in writing.As well as the possibility of jailing journalists, Trumo had serious concerns about the judgment of former National Security Adviser Mike Flynn and described a boast from Vladimir Putin about Russian prostitutes, the memos reveal.The memos chronicle seven encounters in the weeks and months before Comey's May 2017 firing.In a memo from February 14, 2017, the President told Comey of his concern that information from inside the administration was being leaked.'I tried to interject several times to agree with him about the leaks being terrible but was unsuccessful,' Comey wrote.Comey then says of the leakers he would 'like to nail one to the door as a message' but that would be difficult.'He replied that we need to go after the reporters and referred to the fact that 10 or 15 years ago we put them in jail to find out what they know and it worked.' Comey recalled the President mentioning New York Times reporter Judith Miller, who was briefly jailed in 2005 for contempt of court for refusing to reveal the source of a leak.'l explained that I was a fan of pursuing leaks aggressively but that going after reporters was tricky, for legal reasons and because DOJ (Department of Justice) tends to approach it conservatively.'He replied by telling me to talk to "Sessions" and see what we can do about being more aggressive told him I would speak to the Attorney General.'
