It's time for the age-old question; Which came first, the compressor or the EQ? This question usually sparks a lot of debate about proper signal chains, and gain staging.
Studio One and all DAW's allow us to place plugins into the perfect order to get the sound we are going for, but is there a "proper" way?
The possibilities are endless, and that may or may not be a good thing. Are you accentuating problems in the source signal by having one before the other?
This video shows the pros and cons to having the eq before and after the compressor and a recommended signal chain.
