At the front line of Ukraine's struggle, the artillery units in Kherson have been strongly supporting the army against the enemy.
Footage from the Kherson front line shows artillery fire systems that are thought to be significant for a victory over Russia.
The units are firing at the enemy targets day and night.
"Our aim is to destroy all the enemy targets. We fire at Russian military forces with the BM-21 Grad rocket launchers, which makes it possible to destroy the armoured vehicles and armoured personnel carriers of the enemy," Major Mikola, the commander of an artillery battalion, said.
He has been on the battlefield since the beginning of March, and he said that the Ukrainian army has been using the artillery systems heavily.
"At the beginning of the war, Russian forces were making more artillery firing, but now it has changed. They had more weapons, but we closed the gap thanks to the weapons sent to us," the commander told.
Lieutenant Andrey also said the artillery systems and tanks are mainly used by his units that are deployed around 4 kilometres away from the frontline in Kherson.
"Air forces are also supporting us. It is very significant that the artillery units are active in a war, and here they are supporting the army with heavy artillery fire," he told.
In late October, Ukraine announced that the army has so far regained control of a total of 88 settlements in the Kherson region in the south of the country.
Kyrylo Tymoshenko, the deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, made a statement on the operation of the Ukrainian army to take back the settlements controlled by the Russian forces in the Kharkiv and Kherson regions of the country.
He said they have reclaimed control of 88 settlements in Kherson and 551 in the Kharkiv region, adding that 11,827 civilians are residing in the areas.
Russia started its "special military operation" in Ukraine on Feb. 24.
In recent weeks, Ukrainian forces have made advances, while Moscow called up more reservists and made four Ukrainian regions, including Kherson, part of Russian territory following "sham" referendums. The other regions are Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk and Luhansk.
