7-1-2020. A Great Egret is building a nest at the pond. Although I have watched Great Egrets roost at this pond every year for multiple seasons, this is the first time I have seen one building a nest here. Based on the nest construction, I would expect to see more brightly-colored greenish lores, but my experience watching the Great Egret courtship/nesting is very limited, so we shall see on future visits. I am hopeful they do nest here and have success raising chicks.
