Eager to avenge the capture of their chief by the crew of the World Space Patrol vessel Fireball XL5, the Subterrains create a programmable robot bird and send it to Earth to seek out and kill Colonel Steve Zodiac. The relentless mechanical bird, armed with an array of deadly radium capsules, will stop at nothing until it completes its mission of vengeance. Back at Space City, can Dr. Venus and Professor Matic protect Steve from being hunted down by this robotic aerial predator? This is a color animated remake of the UK children’s show Fireball XL5, created by Gerry & Sylvia Anderson, which featured marionettes. Produced by AP Films and distributed by ITC Entertainment, it appeared on US television from 1963-1965 on NBC. Voices, sound effects and music are from the original TV broadcast. There are slight alterations for creative license.
