Khao Kha Moo – Braised Pork Leg Thai / Chinese style / Slow Cooker
Thai Style Braised Pork Knuckle (Khao Kha Moo ข้าวขาหมู) is one of the best street foods in Thailand. Originally Chinese in origin the Thai version is a must to eat and making it at home could not be any easier - chuck it all in the slow cooker come back and eat! The pork is braised until the meat is super tender and the skin & fats of the knuckle just melt in your mouth - serve on rice with Chinese mustard greens and a quick and easy chili garlic sauce - perfect!

Ingredients
Pork Leg
Enough water to cover
10 cloves
3 star anise
2 cinnamon sticks
1 tbsp pepper corns
5 cloves garlic bashed
Thumb size ginger sliced
2 tbsp sugar
4 -5 Coriander roots or stems – if using stems give them a bash
2 cups Chinese rice wine
¾ cup dark soy sauce
½ cup soy sauce
½ cup oyster sauce
Chili sauce
Chilies chopped fine
4 cloves garlic minced
Pinch of salt
4 tbsp white Vinegar
1 tbsp Sugar
Little water if you want
Serve with sliced Chinese pickled mustard greens
Some cooking gravy water to serve over the pork and rice
