This was the first year 105.1 FM in Sacramento was country, which still is to this day. Previously they were KEWT, with an elevator music format. Since going country they have changed their name several times, including KRAK (after the legendary AM country station which is now all-sports). First call letters after KEWT were KSKK and now KNCI (for Nationwide Communications Inc, which previously owned the station after some shuffling around from 98.5 which of course used to be KZAP, flipping to country in the 90s but is now back to rock.)
In the 80s every radio market had a resident Ronald Reagan impersonator, but at this time I was mourning the loss of Alex Bennett on The Quake, one of the few intelligent morning shows.
