Columbus Airport is a small- to medium-sized, primarily general aviation airport. This airport serves the occasional military and commercial flight, as well as some business aircraft outside of local operations. It is located on the north end of the city of Columbus, GA, and is 10 miles north of the Lawson Auxiliary Airfield. Fort Benning and its associated restricted airspace begin just 3.5 miles south of Columbus, and pilots approaching from the east and south must make themselves aware of this airspace in order to avoid possible conflicts. The runway configuration consists of two intersecting runways, and CSG’s taxiway system provides access to all facilities located primarily on the north and west sides of the airport. Full length, parallel taxiways provide access to all runway ends. This video prepares pilots for hot spots and other challenges at CSG.
The FAA's From the Flight Deck video series uses cockpit-mounted cameras to capture runway and taxiway footage and combines them with diagrams and visual graphics to clearly identify hot spots and other safety-sensitive items. Learn more at [ Ссылка ]
