Many of us in Australia are conflicted in our attitude towards animals. We love our dogs and cats, yet continue to eat pigs, cows and chickens in their hundreds of thousands.
Held at the University of Queensland on Thursday 16 October, Voiceless Rethinking: Speciesism was a seminar which investigated the concept of “speciesism” – namely, giving preference to some animals, including humans, based solely on their species.
