Gary Chaffee´s Time Functioning Patterns combined with Odd Metronome & Thelonious Monk
1.- Set your metronome around 70bpm
2.- Interpret it as every 5th triplet
3.- Play the basic jazz ride pattern, 2&4 on the hh and "feather" the bass drum
4.- Sing "Blue Monk". It´s a 12 bar blues form. Play the first 3 snare exercises from page 26. Exercise #1 for the first 4 bars, #2 bars 5 through 8 and #3 for the last 4 bars
