The governor of Reserve Bank Of India (RBI), Shaktikanta Das, has clarified that there is no need to rush to exchange the ₹2,000 banknote which was introduced in November 2016. He said that the decision to withdraw ₹2,000 from circulation is part of the currency management operations of the Reserve Bank and is in tune with the clean note policy.
