Fake news is in the spotlight again. Facebook and Instagram have just announced new ways to stop false information going viral. You'll start seeing 'false information' labels like this one if the apps decide a post is incorrect, or shows misleading info. They're also introducing a pop-up alert which tells people if a post they're about to share is false.
They've got a team of fact checkers working behind the scenes to try to make sure fake news doesn't go viral. It's all part of a big effort to make these platforms home to more reliable information, especially in the lead up to next year's US Presidential election.
Back in 2016 there were claims some groups unfairly and unlawfully tried to influence people's votes. They're just some of the issues these guys are talking about at the News Champions Forum in Canberra! 20 kids have been chosen to participate in the forum which is focussing on how news can better support and engage young Aussies.

It's a really important and lifesaving service and it's the only blood bank for dogs in Victoria. Vets say it could do with a few more donors. Mmm...
