Optimizing the efficiency of a grinding circuit should start already at the previous processing stage: crushing. Ideally, crushers should produce a feed that is fine enough for grinding mills to handle. This is often easier said than done, and many mining operations struggle with feed that is too coarse for the mills, lowering the energy efficiency and performance of the grinding circuit. In this video, we explain how a European customer of Metso Outotec was able to tackle the issue by switching to optimized crusher liners.
