40,000 Americans die in auto collisions every year, while millions more suffer from respiratory and heart diseases while our kids become ever more obese. These facts aren't inevitabilities of modern living, but are the result of a built environment which leaves us with no choice but to live incredibly unhealthy lives.
In this video, we explore some topics related to health in the suburbs, specifically, the epidemic of car fatalities and the ever-growing rate of a wide range of chronic illnesses among Americans. While other factors are important, our nation's dispersal into car-dependent suburbia is a bigger factor than many realize.
