Noise insulation part no . - 5N0864725A
This videos are all about reducing wind noise / sound and vibration in car cabin , there are various methods of noise and vibration reduction inside a car cabin like damping but we are going to focus on the methods from basic to complex or we can say more important to less important .
in this video we lubricated the hydraulic engine mount to reduce the engine vibrations (engine noise )which gets translated to noise inside the cabin , as noise is the side effect of vibration , so the very first step to reduce noise is to reduce the vibrations first .
more of a problem in diesel cars than petrol

secondly , another source of noise is either road noise or tyre noise or both
in this video we dumped the manufacturer's sound insulation , which was on the backside of inner fender liner and replaced it with thermo - acoustic blanket , which acts like damping sheet which we usually use in audio application but alot lighter than traditional damping sheet . so we applied one layer of blanket on the backside of inner fender liner , covered almost 60% of the fender liner , whereas it was just 10% covered from factory.
Its the second video of this series first video was on engine mount lubrication to decrease the vibration transfer to the cabin
in video 3 we have covered the outer side of cowl top ( which is inside engine bay ) . firstly removed the orignal sound insulation material from the front firewall , added one layer of thermo-acoustic insulation on the firewall and on top of than placed the orignal insulation material provided by manufacturer on top of that , so we will have 2 layers of sound insulation .
part 4 - In this video we focused on wind noise , tried to make sure that the door is sealing against the weather seals properly , tighten the doors to grab the latch even tighter and making sure the rubber weather seals are making a good enough contact with the door surface to cut the wind noise out , we also focused on the foam insulation material just behind the headlight , car has a channel inside the front chassis frame which can transfer noise directly into the cowl top area and to the firewall eventually making a way into cabin . part 4 is the answer of how to reduce wind noise in car .
