Director of AIIMS, Dr Randeep Guleria, explains why the COVID-19 infection is spiking in India. He emphasizes on the importance of correct testing techniques for effective diagnosis and management of the disease. Samples need to be collected and processed properly for a correct diagnosis and treatment to follow. However, Dr Guleria maintains that there could be false negatives if the viral load is low and this clinical assessment of the patient is a key indicator in determining positivity.
