Hey Friends! Welcome Back.
We are coming up on the one year anniversary of when we purchased our van, Campy. To commemorate that special purchase, we put together for you the top 10 reasons why we picked the Dodge Grand Caravan over the rest of the competition. I apologize in advance because I verbally started counting in the video after I mentioned the remote start feature 🤣 Whoops! But I get it in check a little bit later in the video.
Below are the top 10 reasons mentioned in the video:
1. Remote Start: Super important especially for us Arizona dwellers. We are able to start the van when we are getting checked out at the store or within 15 minutes of when we know we are leaving and as long as the air conditioning dial is on, the van is cool by the time we get in. It also has a neat auto shut off feature where it will shut off after 15 minutes, if started with the remote start, and the key isn't put into the ignition. This saves fuel and battery power.
2. Built in window shades: the four windows in the back area of the van have built in, easy to use, window shades. They aren't anything special, but they do help filter out that dreaded AZ sun! We have dark tent on our van as well to help the efficiency of these shades.
3. Built in DVD Player: Obviously this one is for the kids 🤣 They get bored after 20 minutes in the van, so giving them a movie to watch or game to play is super helpful. We also use our laptop to watch downloaded movies on Netflix.
4. Stow & Go Seats: the first thing that we did when we got this van, was pull out the middle row seats. We could have left them in the van and just stowed them underneath the floor, but pulling them out meant added storage space, which as we know when camping or traveling, is so precious. You can find a video on how to take these seats out at the link mentioned here: [ Ссылка ]
5. Heated Front Row Seats & Steering Wheel: This feature is almost too fancy for me haha. Let's be honest, We live in the valley of the sun people. Why did we buy a van with heated ANYTHING 🤣 We've never used either feature, other than at test drive to make sure they worked, but we will for sure use them more when we move to Indiana in the fall so, I'm grateful we have it. Even if we haven't used it as of yet!
6. Great Front & Rear AC: This truly should be the number one reason we bought the van - AZ is under a heat advisory this week (temps close to the 120s) & it gives me peace of mind knowing I have such a cold, reliable AC system. There are 4 big vents at face level up front (several more at your feet) and 4 small vents in the roof of the passenger area and several more at your feet. This, coupled with the remote start, guarantees us a cool van when we come out of the store, house, or back from a hike.
7. 6.5inch Touchscreen Display: Bluetooth, Garmin GPS, Sirius XM Radio, etc Need I say more? Seriously - it's the easiest thing to use & has so many neat features. Super important for those Road Trip DJs out there! 🤣
8. Multiple Multimedia/Power Plugins throughout: Dodge really pulled out all the stops when it came to providing adequate charging capabilities for multiple devices, and ways to hook up your gaming devices to the internal DVD player. Again super important for people traveling with kids. I love the 115 volt outlet, as I am able to charge my Go Power Plus device on the road as I'm driving. That outlet is able to be turned on and off with the push of a button on the instrument cluster in the front of the van.
9. Powered Seats: I'm 5'2, Ryan is 6ft. So these powered Seats come in handy more than you'd think 🤣 He likes to push the seat all the way into the floor, and all the way back, where I like to sit up high & have to scoot forward so my big toe can reach the pedals 🤣 with a push of a couple buttons, were able to make that happen. The lumbar support is great too!
10. Power Sliding Passenger Doors & Powered Rear Hatch: these are SO vital when traveling, camping or just simply picking up groceries. They are opened with the pull if a lever or a push of a button. Buttons can be found in your key fob, on the roof of the van above the instrument cluster, or right by the doors themselves (usually on the side the doors close at).
We did install a roof rack/basket and the all terrain tires after purchasing the van. I saw an Army Green Dodge Grand Caravan once with this exact setup & I knew it's what I wanted to follow. We did talk about getting a van when Megan was born 7 years ago, but I didn't want one because I hated how they looked🤣 fast forward to a year ago when we started looking again for a new vehicle, and I had been spoiled with all of the room that Ryan's grandparents van had to offer on a road trip to Arkansas, we ended up buying Campy 🤣 I've learned: never say never! But I love how Campy looks, drives and works for our family.
