Climate change hits the poorest people hardest. This video captures findings from the IPCC report which show how much worse things will be for humanity - particularly for the poorest and most vulnerable people - if the world reaches 2degrees global warming instead of stopping at 1.5degrees.
The reason it highlights the difference between 1.5degrees and 2degrees (rather than 3 or 4 degrees) is because the Paris Agreement, which was ratified by all countries two years ago, committed countries to keeping warming to well below 2degrees, and urged countries to aim for 1.5degrees.
So it was against these parameters that the IPCC set its measurements.
