Just a quick video to demonstrate utilizing induction from a longwire antenna to improve the Retekess V115 reception. If you're new to shortwave and didn't have the money to spend you may have picked one of these up as a low cost alternative. And, most likely you were quite disappointed with the shortwave reception. The shortwave sensitivity on this radio is very poor and trying to attach longer wires directly to the whip works slightly if not at all (which will mostly cause overloading off the MW band). However, just having a longwire or longwire with a loop near the radio improves SW reception dramatically. Will it match the Sonys and Tecsuns out there in performance - not 100% but I've been able to catch stations with low signal strength 70-80% of the time using this method as compared to higher end radios.

Antenna is just ~120 feet of speaker wire attached to a tree outside.
