The full story from our mission to Zambia mid 2021 to film the reintroduction of Cheetah into Bangweulu Swamps in Northern Zambia. The last time Cheetah roamed these plains was over one hundred years ago.
From Ashia Cheetah Conservation: "The translocation initiative arises from a longstanding partnership between Zambia’s Department of National Parks and Wildlife (DNPW), six Community Resource Boards (CRBs) and conservation non-profit African Parks Network, which has managed Bangweulu Wetlands since 2008. This partnership has worked in conjunction with the EWT’s Cheetah Range Expansion Project sourcing the individuals from reserves in South Africa and with Ashia Cheetah Conservation funding all relocations, arranging the air-transports of the animals including the veterinary care as well as the satellite collars."
