Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this GasStop emergency propane shutoff valve and gauge and the 18 inch long hose. So this is gonna help protect your family against major propane leaks and regulator failure. This device will turn off the gas supply immediately if it detects either a major leak or a failure. And when I say a major leak, that's really anything above the normal use so it's not going to turn off your gas supply if you we're to turn on a new appliance that's got propane flowing to it, it's more beyond the normal supply, it will then shut it off. So unlike your other safety devices that are built into your propane tanks and your hoses that will turn off a majority of your propane supply, it still allows a little bit of trickle of propane to go through, which can be obviously very dangerous if you have flames or something like that.
So this system is going to cut off 100% of that flow so you don't have to worry about any propane getting out if it does detect a leak. And then if you are sure that you've fixed the leak, everything's fine, you can very easily reset it just by pushing down on that four to six times and that will reset the system and allow propane to flow through again. So this does have this Type 1 ACME fitting that's gonna be compatible with your travel trailers and 5th wheels. There is a different design for your Class A and Class C motor homes that uses a POL connection, so you wanna make sure you're getting the right one for your setup. This is designed for your travel trailers and 5th wheels only.
It does have this brass construction with a brass and polycarbonate construction and that is gonna be corrosion resistant, will last you nice long time. It's very easy to get installed. You've got that ACME fitting that will tighten down for you and then you can very easily hook up your hose like that. It is gonna add about three inches, call it 3 1/8 of an inch for you onto your system. So will take up a little bit more room, but that's where this 90 degree angle in our hose is gonna come in handy.
So if you are working in a tight space where it's kind of cramped, this is going to save you some room rather than having a hose that has to make a big loop out and around. So this will allow you to still use your cover for your propane tanks without having to worry about the hose snagging on them. The hose is an 18 inch long rubber pigtail hose. It's gonna have a 200,000 BTU maximum flow capacity and a 250 psi maximum pressure. It's got the ACME fitting on the one end and then the other end has a 1/4 male inverted flare that will fit into your regulator, so you can very easily make that connection.
I do want to point out on the top of our pressure gauge we do have, or the valve, we do have this gauge that's going to very easily let you see what's going on in your tank. So whether you have high pressure, sufficient gas, or if you're nearing empty, you can very easily see that there. And it does rotate so you can view it from whatever angle is most convenient for you and so gives you a good idea of where your tanks are at, make sure that you're not gonna be empty when you're going out on your trip. These are both UL and CSA approved, so you can trust they are gonna be a good quality. They're gonna do what you need 'em to do and it's gonna give you a lot of peace of mind knowing that this will shut off 100% of that flow if there we're to be a leak, so you don't have to worry about it while you're resting.
