Following Gov. Larry Hogan's move to shut down all bars, restaurants dining rooms, movie theaters and gyms across the state of Maryland, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser has followed suit, with these specific businesses now closed.
Drive-thru, carryout, takeout, and food delivery will still be available throughout the city. Specific businesses that were told to close had to do so by 10 p.m. on Monday.
Bowser's decision to shut down businesses is in an effort to limit day-to-day interactions and to encourage social distancing in order to stop the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus.
