Take a look at this Jet2 Boeing 737-800WL aborted landing at Manchester Airport back in May 2018! 🛬🛫
Quite a late go around this one! 😀 Pleased I was filming although I wish I had been zoomed in a little more. Seconds before touchdown the crew of this Jet2 737-808(WL) (G-JZHD) decided to abort the landing and go around for a second attempt. I'm not exactly sure of the reason, it did look like they hit a little gust of wind and maybe encountered some windshear? A company Jet2 pilot that landed minutes after them reported negative windshear so I imagine it was that. 🌪 By the time the go around aircraft came back around for a second attempt Air Traffic Control were also reporting moderate turbulence - not an easy day to land at Manchester.
This video was filmed at Manchester Airport at the 'South Side' spotting location for Runway 05R on the 27th May 2018. 🌍
