This is a memorial video slide show to share photos throughout the life and in loving memory of Todd Harris:
HARRIS, Sidney Todd March 17, 1952 - December 15, 2020 Sidney "Todd" Harris (age 68) passed away in his Spokane Valley home on December 15th, 2020. He was born to Sidney Davis Harris and Effie Helen (Sullivan) on Mar 17th, 1952, an Irish birthday embraced and wildly celebrated by his family and friends every year. He grew up in Spokane, WA as the baby brother of three siblings Sharon Harris (deceased), Donald Harris (deceased) and Connie Keller (Granite Falls, WA). He attended East Valley High School, where he excelled in academics as part of the Honor Society, served as class president, played trumpet in the band, belonged to the Pep Club and stood as royalty for Homecoming and other dances. We remember most how athletically astounding he was, competing in track and basketball then setting records in football that are still honored today on the EVHS Hall of Fame wall. In 1970 he was named as one of the top 16 running backs in the nation. That same year on November 2nd, he joined the Marines to serve our nation in the Vietnam War and support his wife Lanette (Albert) as they started their new family together. After two years of active duty, he then transferred to the reserves through September 2nd of 1976. During those years, his daughter Angie (Harris) Jones (Hayden, ID) and son Clint Harris (Bend, OR) were born and also raised in East Valley. Upon returning home from the military, Todd apprenticed under Les Albert Masonry and advanced himself to become a highly-skilled bricklayer. He worked a long successful career and was a proud member of the Brick Layers Union until his retirement in 2009. During retirement, he enjoyed spending his extra time with his granddaughters Sydney and Ciarra Jones (Hayden, ID) and Hadley Harris (Bend OR), whom he doted on and loved most dearly. Todd engaged himself in life, much as he did in school. As a H.O.G. member, he loved to ride his 1999 Harley Fat Boy, to show up fashionably late but cool as hell to family functions and making the epic pilgrimage to Sturgis. If it was a good party, he was there to celebrate with his friends, making it to New Orleans to Mardi Gras with his brother. He always teased his friends and was considered a smart ass, a jokester who was endearing to us all. He is deeply missed by his family already mentioned and so many others including Jake, Katie, Casey, Cara, JJ, Gary, Towey, Stan, the Alberts, Sullivans, Bardens, and Alteva's. Todd was serious about politics, his views defending freedom and equality with a heightened concern for the poor, minorities, and underdogs in general. Everyone loved Todd as he was a kind, loving, respectful, enthusiastic, wild yet intellectual, humble and hardworking man who knew how to be a friend. Rest in Peace with Our Lord until we meet again.
