We're waking up to dense and widespread smoke this morning, limiting visibilities all across Central Ohio. This is once again due to several Canadian Wildfires that continue to burn. As a result of today's smoke, we've got an Air Quality Alert in effect until midnight tonight.
Levels are unhealthy for all groups today, so no matter who you are, limit your time outdoors. On top of this morning's thick smoke, patchy fog near river valleys is possible, so this could add to the already low visibility.
This afternoon will feature widespread smoke and hazy sunshine with warmer highs in the mid to upper 80s. Winds will be out of the south between 5 and 10 mph.
Tonight, will feature a small chance of showers and storms early, primarily north and east of I-70. It'll still be a bit smoky with overnight lows in the mid 60s.
The current smoke model output does clear us from much of the dense wildfire smoke Friday; however, there are many more variables that contribute to air quality levels, so we might deal with another Air Quality Alert Friday.
