A sharp knife is one of the best tools in the kitchen. Unfortunately, good knives can cost hundreds of dollars.
This knife is made of good Cro-Moly high carbon steel. Although it is a bit rough around the edges, it is a good solid design with good balance and hand feel. My only complaint is that the back edge of the knife isn't completely straight. While most of the time you don't cut with that back edge, it is important for the back edge to be straight so that the entire blade makes contact with the cutting board when you bring the knife down. I have to take off a whole star for this.
Overall I think it is a decent knife for the price and I think I may have just gotten one that wasn't quite as good as others. If it weren't for that curve at the back I would give it a full 5 stars.
