This movie is from Willie Nelson's 2nd annual 4th of July Picnic in College Station Tx. It was a pivotal event in Texas music history and helped shape the Austin Music Scene in the 1970's. It brought Lone Star Beer and Texas music together! The 3 day show took place on July 4th, 5th, and 6th and featured so many amazing musicians like Willie Nelson, Sammi Smith, Jerry Jeff Walker and The Lost Gonzo Band, Leon Russell, Michael Murphy, Waylon Jennings, B.W. Stevenson, Rusty Wier, Steven Fromholz, Willis Alan Ramsey, David Allen Coe, Jimmy Buffett, Lefty Frizzell, Kinky Friedman, Asleep At The Wheel, The Nitty Gritty Dirtband, Dottie West, Kenny O’Dell, Tracy Nelson, Geezenslaw Brothers, Red Steagall, Townes Van Zandt, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Kenneth Threadgill, Johnny Duncan, Wolfman Jack, Redlane, Johnny Bush, Billy Joe Shaver, Johnny Darrell, Doug Sahm, Darrell Mccall, Delbert & Glen, Augie Meyers, Jimmy Day, Lee Clayton, Floyd Tillman, Dee Moeller, Greezy Wheels, George Chambers, Rick Nelson, Buzz Rabin, Bill Monroe, Bobby Bare, Terry Stafford, Tompall Glaser, Alex Harvey, Randy Newman, And David Carradine. So many amazing names and it sure looked like an amazing time! I wish they would've filmed a few more musicians for the official film but thats okay. Also please excuse the nudity, it is part of the experience!
