Rowan Pierce and David Blackadder are the soloists, with Steven Devine directing in this full-length film of 'Sound, Sound the Trumpet' from 'The Masque of Hymen', Daniel Purcell's completion of Act 5 of Henry Purcell's opera The Indian Queen. The Masque, which is in praise of marriage, is light relief performed at the very end of the opera after the action has reached its violent and grisly conclusion.
