Calm your emotions & your amygdala using labelling of emotions and experiences.
It's true - expressing how you feel actually works to calm you and builds your Emotional Intelligence. (See research including [ Ссылка ] et al).
Practice expressing your emotions: 'I feel sad' or 'I am angry'.
Expressing emotions is not an excuse to become stuck or overly negative (it helps you move on) but helps us get in touch with our emotions and actually has a positive neurological affect. (References below).

This extract shows Philip Gimmack talking a little about the power of labelling our emotions and how it calms the brain. Sometimes called affect labelling, recent neuroscience seems to support what has long been asserted by therapists and others, that labelling how we feel is actually good for us.
Some say the main difference culturally between women and men is that women are better at doing this, sharing emotions, and may help explain why women live longer and deal much better with depression. (For instance look at world suicide statistics and causes of depression - men's rates are universally much higher). Ability to deal with stress and build resilience is also positively affected by labelling.
