Background:
Starlight Express originally premiered in 1984 in Apollo Victoria Theatre. In 2002 Starlights Doors closed in London - making Bochum (Germany) the only place worldwide, to show a constant production of Starlight Express.
In 2023 Andrew Lloyd Webber announced, that his famous Musical Starlight Express will return to its hometown London.
For the revival the original theatre wasnt available - hence being the home of „Wicked“ since 2006. So they used Troubadour Theatre next to Wembley Park. The Production varies a lot from the original from 1984. It also varies a lot from the current Bochum production - including various new Characters and gender swaps. For the first time „Control“ is live on stage and played by a child actor.
First Preview in Wembley Park was on June 8th 2024 - the premiere is set for June 30th. By this, this recording shows a preview - the show might slightly change till premiere.
