This is a work around for saving specific presets for simpler or sampler when dropping samples into the Ableton drum rack.
This is a life saver.. if you still have Live 8!
This tutorial is filed away under the Very Quick Tip series, but it should be under Very Sweet Tip! It took me a long time to figure out how to do this! I can be a bit complicated for those of you who don't like getting into directories and creating folders, but it is worth it. In Ableton 8 when you drop the Simpler VSTi into a Drum Rack the default setting is -12db. This is just not cool! As you replace samples the value drops back down every time. YUCK!
This tutorial will walk you through the process of making the default settings for Simpler and Sampler. You can adjust the velocity parameter and / or any other parameters you might like to change. You can also change which VSTi is the default device used when dropping a sample into the Drum Rack. EPIC!
