In Bengaluru, communal tensions escalated during Ramzan as a shopkeeper was assaulted for playing music during Azaan. The shopkeeper was threatened and thrashed by a group of men, leading to scuffles and protests in the area. The altercation began when the shopkeeper was asked to stop playing loud bhajan during Azaan, as captured in a video showing the group provoking him. After the shopkeeper retaliated, the situation turned violent, with the group assaulting him. Following the fight, the attackers dispersed, leaving the shopkeeper injured. BJP MP from Bengaluru South, Tejasvi Surya, met with the victim and assured action. An FIR has been registered against the accused, with three individuals already arrested, and an inquiry has been launched, according to DCP Central.
