A group of Northeastern friends in the Capital of India, New Delhi, plan to throw a wedding party for one of their friends and cook a specialty Nagaland dish (Pork with Axone - strong smell). What could simply go wrong in a city that has to offer so much via its food, people or culture. Chanbi played by Lin, Upasana played by Sayani and Zorem played by Tenzing are determined to cook the pork dish for their friend. But its a chaos filled environment. The landlord doesn't entertain men in the girls apartment. And Chanbi and Upasana have to wait until all tenants have left their homes so they can start cooking Axone flavored pork. When buying vegetables, Chanbi faces sexual harassment from local boys and no one comes to her support. Instead, she faces the wrath of the society. There are hurdles and societal challenges over which Chanbi has to cross through (almost getting a panic attack) when the landlord and societal members don't appreciate cooking by Chanbi and her friends. The strong aroma of the pork dish is an instant deterrent for the society. There is no freedom or privacy for Chanbi and her friends. The party is cancelled and Chanbi's boyfriend isn't picking his phone. He feels disgusted and shameful that he couldn't muster the courage to protect Chanbi from the vulgar goons and deems himself a coward. Chanbi and her friends constantly face racism but pretend to ignore and move on. Ultimately, they all gather to celebrate Minam's wedding and enjoy the night.

ReviewMagic feels the director doesn't do a great job at sending a strong message to the society. In the first 30 minutes, its not clear of Nicholas KharKongor wants us to think if this is a harassment or peaceful wedding story. He beautifully showcases the racism that today's northeastern Indians have to face in the capital of India but lacks the punch. He also fails to get the most out of all its best characters like Sayani Gupta, Vinay Pathak and Adil Hussain. Chanbi is portrayed as a strong woman in her character and he provides some meaning to this movie. The casting is only good to represent a group of talented artists from Northeastern India. Feels good that the movie is shown to have completed in a day but picture abhi baki hai. I wish the Director had shown more strength in his messaging which towards displaying the racism that exists today in the Indian society between Indians from all backgrounds. This is a film you can watch with your family on Netflix. It has anger, humor, laugh, frustration, sorrow, pain, love, disappointment but happiness in the end.
