The West Sumatra Regional Police closed the case of Afif Maulana's death on 30 June and stated that the cause of Afif's death was due to falling from a bridge.

Thirteen-year-old teenager Afif Maulana (AM) was found dead under the Batang Kuranji bridge in Padang City, West Sumatra (Sumbar), on Sunday (9/6). Afif allegedly died after the Sabhara personnel of the West Sumatra Regional Police dispersed a group of youths suspected of being involved in a brawl.

Following this announcement, Afif's family decided to exhume Afif Maulana's grave and conduct a new autopsy.
