You can choose how you want to handle your payroll taxes and filings in QuickBooks.
By default, QuickBooks can do them for you automatically once you complete setup. You can also choose to e-pay and e-file them yourself through QuickBooks, or directly with the agencies. You can always change your mind later.
If you want QuickBooks to pay and file your taxes automatically, or you want to e-pay and e-file using QuickBooks, you’ll need to complete a few tasks. If you want to pay and file on your own, these tasks are optional.
Before you start, you’ll need your federal and state ID numbers, and your principal officer on hand to answer some questions.
Note that if you use QuickBooks Online Payroll Core, you won't be able to pay and file your local city, county, and school district payroll taxes through QuickBooks
