FAQ: When someone says "Thank you" in American Sign Language (ASL), what's the appropriate response sign?
Do not use the English phrase, "You're welcome." The sign WELCOME in ASL is used to welcome someone to a place or group. (You *may* see it used, based on English influence, but there are other ways to respond.)
Instead, you can acknowledge their gratitude in three ways:
1) Repeat the sign THANK-YOU back to them
2) Sign FINE
3) Express that "IT'S-NOTHING" / "NO-PROBLEM"
