An ill-informed girl from the South of Ireland tells Martin McGuinness that he is not from Ireland while at the same time she says she knows nothing about the History of the Troubles. The Troubles, a time in which Irish people in the North were oppressed and had no civil rights because an oppressive British government didn't want them on the land they were born on. She condemns McGuinness on something she admits she knows nothing about.
McGuinness was born in Derry, what Island was it on? Regardless of what Government rules it the land is still Ireland and the people still Irish. Were Padraig Pearse or the men of the Easter Rising 1916 British and not Irish? What about Emmet or Tone? What about Bobby Sands? All the Irish Patriots, who too were born into a British occupied part of Ireland so under her definition, they too are British!
It saddens me that men died for her right to live in a part of Ireland which has an independent Government away from Westminster. Anyone who views Ireland as two countries is not a true Irishman or Irishwoman. Some people need to learn about their own country and get an education before making comments like that. When you meet these people, correct them!
