George Michael's tribute at the beginning of the night was emotional, to say the least. During a montage of clips of the late singer, Prince, Viola Beach and Leonard Cohen were also paid tribute to.
Michael's former Wham! bandmates Pepsie, Andrew Ridgeley and Shirlie paid their respects to the star and struggled to hold back their tears as they spoke about their late friend. Coldplay frontman Chris Martin then took to the stage to sing Wham! track A Different Corner while recordings and images of the star played in the background.

After winning Best Band, The 1975 took to the stage to perform their track The Sound, when pink and white text began appearing on the screen. Viewers immediately took to Twitter to say that it had been hacked, however it appears that the messages were actually lyrics from the song. Oops.
3. David Bowie winning two awards
The late David Bowie was honoured at the 37th Brit Awards with the award for Best British Male Solo Artist and British Album of the Year. Actor Michael C Hall accepted the first award, joking: "If David Bowie could be here tonight, he probably wouldn't be here tonight. "
4. Skepta's performance being muted
British Solo Male Artist nominee Skepta didn't manage to take home an award, but he did manage to have a good chunk of his performance of Shutdown muted. Those watching the awards live may have thought it was a technical issue, but in reality the grime artist's performance had to be censored because of its colourful language.
5. One of Katy Perry's dancers falling off the stage
We shouldn't laugh, but we did. During her performance of Chained to the Rhythm, one of Katy Perry's dancers dressed as a tiny house fell off the stage.
6. Katy Perry's not-so-subtle dig at Trump
Katy Perry deserves a second place on the most talked about moments list for her nod towards Donald Trump and Theresa May's meeting by using skeletons that were dressed very similarly to the two world leaders.
7. Ed Sheeran's surprising mash-up
After a year-long hiatus, Ed Sheeran has taken over the music scene once again. He treated viewers to both of his new tracks, Castle On The Hill and Shape of You, and was also joined by Stormzy for a stellar performance.
8. Liam Payne representing One Direction
Thanks to over one million tweets by Directioners, One Direction won Best British Video for their hit song History. However, Liam Payne was the only member there to accept the award, and bashfully gave a quick speech thanking fans. "One Direction is who we are and who we always will be," he said.
9. The Chainsmokers collaboration with Coldplay
Coldplay and The Chainsmokers performing together was the surprise of the night at the awards, but their collaboration received mixed reviews, with some viewers left less than impressed by the reveal. "When you thought One Direction was the surprise band performance and they bring out The Chainsmokers," said one user on Twitter.
10. Robbie Williams' killer finale
After being honoured with the Brits Icons Award, Robbie Williams finished off the night with an incredible performance of Love My Life that had the entire arena on its feet. Surprisingly, there were no hiccups and the song went smoothly.
