What is autism stimming?
Stimming is a shortened term of self-stimulatory behavior and stimming is repetitive actions that a person does to self regulate, to block out stimulus or to relieve anxiety or to express emotion in a physical way. This can include movement of the body or body parts or the way you handle objects. If this is done in a repeating pattern, then this is stimming.
The difference between autistic stimming and neurotypical stimming?
Whether you are autistic and neurotypical, everybody stims but often between autistic stimming and neurotypical stimming is the type of stimming but also the amount. Autistics tend to stim alot more and are less restrictive on how they are stimming.

Proprioception stimming
Is Stimming dangerous for autistic people?
For the most part, stimming is in no way dangerous for autistic people. But that is not to say that there are no stims which can be dangerous for autistic individuals. These are stims which are known as self-injurious behaviors i,e. hand banging, hand biting, excessive skin rubbing and scratching as just a few examples. But when someone is doing this it’s important to find out what the cause of the stims is. Because it could be an easy solution fixable. But also it’s important to understand that stimming in the eyes of many autistics stimming allows me to be able to express ourselves, to self-regulate etc.
