"It took quite a while for me to ‘get’ what the Valvebucker is about. I just couldn’t find those familiar sounds that define ‘electric guitar’ to me. Finally I succeeded to let go of my attempts to force the guitar to my will. I wiped the slate clean and started to listen - and then the special quality of the instrument began to unfold. With this guitar, even the slightest nuances are effortlessly audible, and the unusually wide dynamics can easily be controlled. The simple control layout offers a much wider palette of sounds than I could’ve imagined to have in a one pickup guitar."

"The sound of the Valvebucker-equipped guitar was quite easy to record and very pleasant to listen to. I just placed the microphones -- a Royer R-121 and a Soundelux (Bock) ifet7 -- in front of the amps and let the “tape” roll. The microphones were amplified by a Grace Design M501 and a Avedis MA5, respectively, and converted to digital via an Apogee Duet patched into a MacBook Pro running PreSonus Studio One. The mics were panned left and right in order to preserve the real-life imaging provided by the two amps. An ambient reverb courtesy of a Soundtoys Little Plate plugin was added after the fact."
