Andrew Zimmern took us around the world experiencing one culture and food at a time. He peaked everyone's interest in what he was going to encounter next, but let's not forget he is a culinary genius himself. Andrew has been forthcoming with his past but with his talent and determination, he has found success in the culinary world. We've watched Andrew Zimmern over the years and couldn't wait to try this hearty and warm soup during the cold winter months. Sure this recipe is not a diet soup, but how can one promise to be fat-free with a white chowder soup? This recipe has a pound of crab meat and shrimp plus an entire quart of heavy cream, yummo! Seafood is always a treat and a really good crab and shrimp chowder is a dream come true during a time where we can't venture out to find it. Seafood chowder for everyone!

QUICK TIPS WE LEARNED AFTER TEST:
1. Make sure to cut everything the same size for even cooking and easy spooning into your mouth!
2. Pay attention to the length of time Andrew Zimmern instructs in the recipe (link above). We followed it to a T and the shrimp was super tender, never had such tender shrimps. I guess in a way, we poached it.
3. You'll need to taste first then add salt. We ended up probably adding 1 Tbsp of kosher salt total, the recipe just said add salt and pepper.
4. Although it said to add a serrano chile pepper, there was no heat at all due to the big pot. Next time we make this, maybe we'll add another or a dash of cayenne for a little kick.
5. Make it ahead and serve! It was still good up to 5 days in the fridge, make sure to seal tight. Probably wouldn't recommend freezing, creamy soups don't tend to thaw well unless you omit the cream for freezing and reserve adding the cream when ready to eat.
