In Armenian Minstrels, his first film on Armenian music, Goudsouzian spent a month filming minstrels, featuring Sayat-Nova Minstrel Song Ensemble. Now, in Armenian Echoes, he continues his quest to capture and feel the sounds of Armenia. From a kamancha player in the Aram Merangulyan Folk Instruments Ensemble, to ancient spiritual songs, to rural and urban dancers, to unsung musicians from isolated villages, Hagop Goudsouzian weaves a beautiful 2-hour documentary showcasing a unique glimpse of Armenian life through its music, the very essence of Armenian identity.
Armenian Minstrels is a two-hour documentary filmed in Armenia and presented in two one hours.
Hagop Goudsouzian is the producer/director of Armenian Exile, Armenian Minstrels, Armenian Echoes and the director of Mon fils sera Arménien / My Son Shall Be Armenian.
