We all have that person we think we're supposed to be, or the person we want to be, even when it doesn't line up with the person we actually are. I call this the "fantasy-self" and when we declutter, we have to let go of the fantasy person items (the things we have so we can be the chef/homemaker/professional/entertainer/hostess-with-the-mostest, etc) and keep the items that help us live the life we actually are living.
I just want to walk you through the process that I had to go through as I was sorting my stuff on this journey to minimalism, I had to come face to face with this fantasy self, who she was, and determine which one is the fantasy Rachel, and which one is the real-life Rachel.
Because in all honesty, all of the fantasy Rachel's were getting in the way of the real-life Rachel, the one that wanted to be present with her family.
So I just have this list of things that I had to deal with through the process, and I wanted to walk through them one by one.
