The most expensive peals I can find that have been sold recently

I’ve had lots of requests for a video showing an example of a very expensive set of antique pearls…So hold onto you seats it’s coming up…admittedly there are some diamonds involved, but if you saw my video recent;y interviewing Pearl expert and jewellery dealer Candy, she explained in that video just how expensive pearls can be…so, …for those that have asked…here you go!

This is the most expensive piece of Pearl jewellery I can find that has been sold sold recently…

It’s a bracelet, made during the Art Deco period, so circa 1925

Formerly from the Collection of Her Royal Highness, The Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon: sister to queen Elizabeth II

These are cultured pearls (to know the difference between cultured and natural, see my interview with Candy …it’s a few videos back on my channel here

It has a cultured pearl and diamond-set shield-shaped clasp, mounted in platinum, the clasp engraved with the ownership mark ‘M’ beneath The Princess Margaret’s coronet…so this is the mark of the princess

Fitted into a later Cartier case , the bracelet came with its Certificate of Provenance from Kensington Palace, dated 13 June 2006,

Margaret is pictured wearing this bracelet in her official 19th birthday portrait in 1949,

If you search online you’ll find more expensive Pearl jewellery for sale, but this one does have a sold price record, so this is the one I find interesting!
