When I am teaching other physicians, it is so important to distinguish between the different cannabinoids - especially THC and CBD. Oftentimes people make broad statements about "medical cannabis" but it is very important to delineate between the therapeutic benefits and potential risks of THC versus CBD. While THC is generally contraindicated in patients with a history of psychosis, there is a growing body of evidence pointing to CBD as a potential treatment option for individuals with a schizophrenia diagnosis.
