The United Arab Emirates (UAE) may acquire the Chengdu J-20 Mighty Dragon stealth fighter jet from China if plans to purchase F-35s from the US do not receive a clear response.
So far, it has even been reported that Washington has refused the UAE access to the F-35 because of the safety factor of the aircraft which poses a risk of leaks to third parties. The US has not responded too enthusiastically to the UAE's desire to acquire F-15s due to the Gulf country's close ties to China.
As is known, the UAE recently purchased 12 L-15 supersonic light fighters from China.
