Creating Custom Tuned Profiles
The tuned package provides tuning profiles suitable for most common workloads. The built-in profiles in Red Hat Enterprise Linux have the potential to be changed from regular updates or errata. Creating custom tuned profiles protects from such updates. Moreover, there are cases where more fine-tuning is required to achieve the desired performance. The tuned service supports the creation and use of custom tuned profiles. The tuned package ships with built-in profiles, residing in the /usr/lib/tuned directory:
